1. Product Information

1.1 Blu-ray specifications

Our Blu-ray products are encoded at the highest possible data rate to deliver maximum audio-visual fidelity. Due to these high specifications, specific hardware requirements must be met for successful playback.


1.2 Playback Requirements

Your Blu-ray player must be:

• Capable of sustained high-bitrate playback.
• BD-R compliant.
• Region Free compatible.
• Updated with the latest firmware.
• A dedicated, performant Blu-ray player (PlayStation® consoles are not compatible due to DRM).


1.3 Recommended Players

We strongly recommend the following players for guaranteed playback:

• SONY BDP-S6700

• SONY UBP-X70

Any player with 4K upscaling or 4K playback capabilities is generally suitable but cannot be guaranteed. We cannot guarantee playback outside of the players we recommend above. We are unable to provide technical support beyond the information provided here. By purchasing a Blu-ray from scottbarley.com you acknowledge and agree to the aforementioned information.

2. Quality Assurance

All Blu-ray discs are thoroughly tested for complete playback before despatch. Discs are Region Free and will play on compatible players worldwide. Each disc undergoes rigorous quality control checks on several hardwares prior to shipping.

3. Playback on Incompatible Devices

If your player does not meet the required specifications:

• The disc may not play.
• The disc may return to the main menu before complete playback (usually after 10-20 minutes of playback.)
• This is not a fault but a hardware limitation of the Blu-ray player being used.
• We do not accept returns or offer refunds for playback issues related to incompatible hardware.
• We advise using a recommended player for guaranteed playback (see 1.3, Recommended Players).

4. Shipping Information

4.1 Current Shipping Restrictions (as of September 2024)

Blu-ray orders are temporarily limited to United States (USA) addresses only. Orders to addresses outside the USA will not be fulfilled by the manufacturer and cannot be refunded. Please do not place orders from non-USA addresses at this time.

Other products (posters, prints, and downloads) remain available for worldwide shipping/access. USA orders are unaffected and continue as normal. We aim to resume worldwide Blu-ray shipping as soon as possible and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

4.2 General Shipping Terms

• Please allow 3-5 weeks for order processing and shipment after the conclusion of each product release (excluding weekends and public holidays).
• We are not responsible for carrier mishandling, delays, or losses once the package has been handed over to the shipping carrier.
• Recipients are solely responsible for all customs fees, taxes, and brokerage charges.
• We cannot provide information on potential customs fees or assist with customs-related issues.
• Customs agencies may require recipients to complete additional forms before package release.
• The recipient is responsible for contacting their local post office or the relevant carrier for shipment issues.
• Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping addresses.
• We are not responsible for stolen or missing packages.
• While we will attempt to honour address change requests, we cannot guarantee changes after order placement.

5. Digital Downloads

• Digital files are for personal home video use only.
  
• A download link will be sent to your email inbox immediately after purchase.
  
• Upon purchase, your right to cancel the purchase is immediately terminated. This is in accordance with consumer contract regulations regarding digital content, as the service has begun at your request.
  
• The downloaded file will be yours to keep for as long as you store the file on your device(s) of choice.
  
• Downloads are not covered for replacement due to deletion (accidental, or otherwise), file loss, or device loss.
  
• Public exhibition requires institutional licensing and payment of exhbition fee (see Section 7).
  
• Download links have expiry dates. Please ensure you download your file promptly.

6. Store Policy

6.1 Cancellation Rights

Blu-rays: Upon breaking the seal of the Blu-ray packaging, your right to cancel the purchase is immediately terminated. This is in accordance with consumer contract regulations regarding sealed audio/video recordings and software.

Digital files: Orders of digital files or "downloads" cannot be cancelled or refunded. This is in accordance with consumer contract regulations regarding digital content, as the service has begun at your request.

6.2 Returns

You have the right to cancel a Blu-ray order within 14 days of receiving the product, provided:

• The Blu-ray disc remains sealed and unopened.

• You notify us of your decision to cancel by emailing info@scottbarley.com within 14 days of placing your order.

• You return the product without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day you notify us.

To return a product:

• Contact info@scottbarley.com to obtain the return shipping address.

• Return the product in its original, unopened condition.

• Bear all direct costs of returning the product.

• Ensure the product is adequately packaged to prevent damage during transit.


Note:

• We are not responsible for items lost or damaged during return shipping.

• We will refund the purchase price of the product, excluding the original shipping costs.

• You are responsible for the cost of returning the product.

• Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned product in its original condition.

• The refund will be issued using your original payment method.


6.3 Damaged Products

For products physically damaged upon arrival:

• Contact us at info@scottbarley.com within 48 hours of delivery.

• Provide clear photographic evidence of the damage.

• If damage is proven to have occurred during shipping, we will ship a replacement product free of charge.

7. Institutional Purchases

7.1 Availability and Terms

• Institutional purchases are available for Blu-rays only.

• Digital downloads are for personal home video use only.

• Institutional purchases permit exhibition to groups of 100 or fewer individuals.

• No admission fees may be charged without additional licensing (see 7.2, Exhibition Rights).

• License is valid for the life of the Blu-ray disc.

• License is non-transferable and non-duplicable.

• Institution must maintain possession of original disc.



7.2 Exhibition Rights

• Charging admission

• Public exhibition

• Publicly advertised screenings

• Theatrical screenings

• Installations

We can provide DCPs (Digital Cinema Packages) and Pro Res files for theatrical screenings and installations.

8. Payment Information
